2023 CAAN Lunar New Year - Giving Back - RCDN Chapter

Education as a weapon to break through the cycle of poverty, creating opportunities for income, growth and sustainable development. Without quality education, the underprivileged are unable to unlock their full potential and end up begging on the streets. Corona virus has affected all the people worldwide but in Africa/Uganda it has almost taken away every hope of vulnerable and orphan kids going back to school. By supporting this cause “Khule Charity Foundation” will cover the annual school fees, books, meals and school uniforms for 200 orphans in Kampala, Uganda.

Project Transitions is dedicated to serving people with HIV by providing housing, comprehensive support services, recuperative care and hospice in compassionate and caring environments.

It is time for our annual charity gift drive with Bridges Homeward formerly known as Cambridge Family and Children’s Service (“CFCS”)! We’ll be helping Bridges Homeward obtain holiday gifts for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Our help in previous years has been greatly appreciated. It’s a wonderful opportunity to express the pure act of giving!

This fund donates to underprivileged students of The NingXia LiuPanShan High School (宁夏六盘山高中) and helps them thrive in their education. All funds will go through the Ningxia Charity Promotion Association, a non-profit that is vetted by Bright Funds, and then distribute to the school. The Ningxia LiuPanShan High School is dedicated to providing equal education opportunity for students from Xihaigu, which is the most under-developed region of Ningxia. Thank you for visiting my virtual holiday toy drive! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is changing the way they accept toys and gifts for children and families spending the holidays in the hospital. Help me make the holidays special for these children through a tax-deductible donation in support of the Child Life, Education and Creative Arts Therapy team at CHOP. This special team provides care and support year-round to children and families in the hospital. With thousands of children visiting CHOP every year, the Child Life team has an ongoing need for toys, craft supplies, books, video games and movies. In the absence of an in-person toy drive this year, the Child Life Department depends on monetary donations to provide holiday gifts to the many children spending the season in the hospital. After many years of constant physical abuse, this mother decided to end her marriage. She took her two children and went to the Crisis Centre in a remote town, where her husband couldn’t find them. She was able to take only the bare minimum and after coming out of the centre, she needs to build their life from scratch. We’ll help her with bills, food, psychologist, educational materials for the children, clothes and shoes.

Christopher House is a family of schools that helps under privileged children and families in Chicago succeed in school, the workplace, and life.

Maria is the mother of two boys in first and fourth grade. The children are very smart, they both have excellent results in school. The mother has been separated from her husband for 6 years when he emigrated, not keeping touch with the children at all. She can't get a divorce because she can't afford the lawyer's fees. The mother has health problems, seizures, unstable blood sugar, frequent vomiting. The doctor told her that she should have a brain scan, but she cannot afford it. She works in a clothing factory, but due to her health, she only manages to work half the month and receives half the minimum wage. She did not qualify for fire wood benefits because she is not divorced from her husband, who, since he is abroad, is expected to have sufficient income. That's why they haven't had anything to warm themselves with so far this year and are left in the cold. This is our most urgent priority, because the children are frequently catching a cold. We're helping the mother get divorce and the necessary medical care, so she can be financially independent. Meanwhile we'll help with clothes, shoes, electricity and water bills, educational materials and food for a few months.

According to the national disaster management agency, at least 268 people have died; over 150 remain missing and more than 1,000 were injured. This project will train and support disadvantaged orphans aged ( 16-20 ) on life and career skills needed to survive in a changing world (COViD19 backdrop) with educational materials, resources and courses . A lot of orphans need career support and courses after graduating from school. They need to develop life and work skills, which will bloom their potential and will provide chances of finding better jobs. Khule Charity Foundation will provide full after school educational career support for 30 orphans and will help them show their potential

The India Literacy Education Fund is created to help unprivileged children get the right to education and find a better place in society. The national nonprofit primarily focuses on education for children from less privileged backgrounds. This fund will resolve the issues of child education, health & nutrition, child labor, and child marriage.
