The W.H.O. has declared COVID-19 a pandemic and public health emergency of international concern. Bright Funds has established The 2020 Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund, comprised of pre-vetted nonprofits based in the United States providing emergency response around the world and in the US. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Given the ever-changing nature of this pandemic and widespread impact, the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund will evolve. Generally this fund will support healthcare, medical needs, vulnerable populations, nutrition/food support at both the local and international level.

We are all affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic. It's an unprecedented health challenge and we know people and organizations everywhere want to help. The World Health Organization is leading and coordinating the global effort, supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic. The greatest need right now is to help ensure all countries are prepared, especially those with the weakest health systems. Donations support WHO’s work to track and understand the spread of the virus; to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information; and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments. The Cisco Foundation has launched a disaster response campaign to benefit responders in South Asia: Bangalore Hospice Trust, Hidaya Foundation, International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies, Habitat for Humanity India, Jagruthi Trust, Nightingales Medical Trust, Oxfam India, Parikrma, Sense International India, Shisu Mandir, Sonar Bangla, U&I, and the UN Foundation. The Cisco Foundation will match eligible donations up to $10,000 per employee. Donations will not be counted toward employees' annual $25,000 match limit. **Note on Tax Deductibility: This fund may include organizations based in the US, and in other countries. US employees who make a credit card donation will receive a receipt for tax deductibility for the portion of the donation contributed to US organizations. Employees outside the US will not be able to receive a receipt for tax deductibility for credit card donations to organizations in this fund.**

The Cisco Foundation will match eligible donations up to $10,000 per employee. Update: we have met the 5K in donations to this fund, and have matched. Additional donations will not count towards the Duo match, but are still eligible for Cisco's match. Duo will match up to $5K of donations TOTAL (from BU members and matrixed teams only) to the fund made through the end of this month, which may also be eligible for Cisco’s Bright Funds match to triple your gifts for a total of $15K.
